The first step in applying for your Site Alteration Permit is to complete an application online by clicking this link: Site Alteration Permit Application
If your work only requires a Sherkston Site Alteration Permit, once approved, a permit certificate will be delivered to your site, or available for pick up from the Welcome Centre. Work must not start until this certificate is received.
If your work also requires a city permit, you will be provided with a City of Port Colborne Permit Application as well as a Sherkston approval letter. These documents are required to apply for your city permit.
Applying for a City Permit
To apply for a city permit, you must take the following documents to the City of Port Colborne:
- Your application to construct (fill out pages 1 and 2 only)
- A copy of the application is available at the bottom of this page
- Your approval letter from Sherkston Shores
- 2 copies of your drawings
- 2 copies of your site plan
- An overhead view of your site, including distance to neighbouring trailers, structures, showing the trailer, and include all existing structures on the site including dimensions
- A payment made by check for $120.00 made out to the City of Port Colborne

Important!
Work cannot start until:
- Your Sherkston Approval Certificate is received
- Your City of Port Colborne Approval Certificate is received (where applicable)
