Types of Work Requests

We have put together a list of commonly requested items, and a brief description.

Please remember it is up to you as the owner to maintain your park model/RV. This includes 3 feet from the structure of the park model/RV, which includes gardens, trees, shrubs etc.

Grounds and Landscaping

  • Bushes and shrubs: If a bush or shrub is more than 3' from the park model/RV, Sherkston will trim or remove upon request. If the bush or shrub is within 3' from the park model/RV, it is the owner's responsibility. Once you've removed the bush/shrub, you can bring the trimmings to the curb for pick up. Please notify the Welcome Centre once it is there so we can coordinate pick up.
  • Sod/grass seed: You may request to have sod, hydro seed or top dress and seed completed on your site. These requests will be directed to our Groundskeeping Manager for approval.
  • Trees: Trees that are damaged, overgrown or dead can be trimmed or removed, pending approval of our Maintenance Manager. In some cases, this will require a third party company and a longer wait time is expected for these types of requests. Sherkston will not remove healthy trees under any circumstances.
  • Poison Ivy: If you detect poison ivy on your site, please place a work order request

Water and Sewer

  • The water line (hose) that feeds your park model/RV with water from the service post is your responsibility to replace or repair if needed. The tap that your hose connects to is maintained and repaired by Sherkston Shores. Before putting in a work request for a leak, see if you can determine where the water is coming from.  In most cases, the leak is between the tap and hose connection and a simple tightening of the hose or new rubber gasket fixes the problem. If this is not the case, please submit a work request.
  • If you detect any drainage or sewer issues outside of your park model/RV or in common areas, please complete a work request. If it is an emergency, please call the Welcome Centre at 905-894-0972 ext 5.

Cable

  • When our service provider, Cogeco, installs new service throughout the resort, they are not responsible for burying the cables once complete. If you have lines exposed, or notice any within the resort, please complete a work request.
  • Any other issues surrounding cable TV are the responsibility of the owner and their respective service provider.

Hydro

  • If you do not have hydro/electricity at your site, please check your indoor and outdoor breaker located on the service post.
  • If flipping your breakers does not solve the issue, please call the Welcome Centre at 905-894-0972.

Pick Up Requests

You can place a work order request for the pick up of large items from your site. Renovation/construction materials must be removed by the owner or the respective contractor.

Acceptable pick up items:

  • Large items; large items such as BBQs, unwanted furniture, mattresses, appliances etc
  • Leaves/branches/yard trimmings; leaves and yard trimmings must be bagged. Large branches can be piled at the curb
  • Sand can be piled up at the curb for pick up if you choose to do so
